Place-based education is gaining public attention in educational journals, websites, and print and web media. Below are a handful of articles below showcase various projects from around the country. There are also a few thought-provoking pieces that discuss the value of getting students outside and into their communmity. Share them with others. And please - - encourage your own local paper, radio station, television station, or favorite magazine to cover place-based education activities in your community.

Charlotte’s Webpage, and Unplugged Schools by Lowell Monke. Computers can be helpful instructional tools. When overused, they pull studentes away from outdoors play, and reduce the pleasure of authentic learning. Monke describes this phenomenon, and mentions numerous place-based initiatives that counteract this trend.
