The Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is committed to not only providing a living, working model of conservation and responsible land stewardship, but also to educating the public about opportunities for stewardship in many different communities and environments. The park runs a variety of educational programs.

Beyond national parks, the National Park Service helps communities across America preserve and enhance important local heritage and close-to-home recreational opportunities. It offers grants and assistance to register, record and save historic places; create community parks and local recreation facilities; conserve rivers and streams, and develop trails and greenways.
